The drivers’ screen
Fifty metres
The cars are empty. The people are waiting.
Every morning on the Irbid–Amman road a car goes past you, then another, each carrying one person and four empty seats. Fifty metres away, people have stood at the stop half an hour, waiting for a ride to the same place. The only thing missing is anything that tells one about the other.
Ryder is that one thing. No more than that, and no less.
Where it runs today
- 126zones on the network
- 121of them with a fixed fare
- 14,282zone-to-zone fares on file, both directions
The network that runs today, not a map of ambition.
The arithmetic
Not a promise.A calculation.
Every fare here is read from the app itself, every step shown. Find a mistake and it is ours.
Your route, your month
A real sample — 20 routes, not the network.
22 to start, there and back. Only you know your month.
Or start from these
0.75 JODa seat, each way
0.75 × 2 rides × 22 days
33 JODof fares a month+ 1 JODsubscription
34 JODa whole month of travelling
3 JODthe whole ride, split between 4
The sum’s conditionEvery figure above assumes the ride actually filled.
Your ride is invisible to every driver until all 4 seats are taken — unless every passenger agrees to split the empty ones, and then each of you pays more than the figures above. If neither happens, there is no ride, and nothing to add up.
Aydoun to Yarmouk University, 22 working days: 34 JOD a month in total.

The rules that do not move
The per-seat fareEvery figure is one passenger’s fare, for one ride.
The app shows the whole ride’s total first, and the fare for one passenger under it. Everything is worked out on the per-passenger fare, and the total is that fare × 4.
Your fare holdsKnown before you get in — with one exception.
If every passenger agrees to split the empty seats between you, each of you then pays more than the figures above. That is your decision, not ours.
No servees columnWe have no figure we could stand behind.
Ours we know exactly — every fare here is read from the app’s own database. What a servees costs you on your particular route, we have no figure for. The ones quoted around vary from person to person and month to month; set them in a table and they start to look official. We are not doing that. So this is our half, open from end to end. The other half you know better than I do.
